Day 3

Today was spent preparing for the cruise up the Mississippi.  Collecting boarding passes, booking tours and repacking suitcases.  Then we went to the most amazing restaurant for dinner near the French Quarter called Ruth's Chris Steak House.  This restaurant started in New Orleans and now has over 200 outlets around the world.  The meal was probably the best steak we have ever had, so worth the trip to Norlens just for the steak.
Went to a movie about Hurricane Katrina and the slow degradation of the swamplands around New Orleans today.  The destruction of this Eco system since 1940 has been incredible.  This makes you really think that we have got it wrong in so many places around the world.

Louis Armstrong is in every corner of this city.

Trams or Trolley Cars are a popular tourist attraction.  The guy in the blue T shirt on the right is about the norm for males here.

Judy and Rose outside the I max theatre in New Orleans.

Paddle Steamers and plenty of commercial shipping keep the river alive.

Our night out at Ruth's Chris steak house.

View across the Mississippi on our last night.
